The Junior Board of the Sheltering Arms Physical Rehabilitation Hospital delivers once again. This year’s Bal du Bois provided a spectacular setting for one of Richmond’s favorite fundraisers and its twenty-eight sponsors. Working with the theme, An Evening on the Côte d’ Azur, the Board, guided by designers Scott Boyer and deVeaux Riddick, spread French azure designs throughout the Country Club of Virginia’s Westhampton clubhouse. You couldn’t help but feel that you had been transported to the South of France. Take a look and see what we mean (hover mouse over the photos for descriptions):
Foyer aka Silhouette Hall
Each of the 28 sponsors is portrayed in a custom silhouette by Board member, Mary Williams.
Main Ballroom aka The Cabana
A talented Board member hand-crafted the intricate valance for the cabana entrance awnings.
Quadrille’s Sigourney fabric in French Blue makes for stunning focal points on the center table and terrace door valances.
Thibaut wallpaper panels hang above the bar.
Fifi, the escargot, served as the Board’s mascot for this year’s edition of the Bal du Bois. She also appeared inside the invitation.
Vern Yip of Trading Spaces fame designed the fabric covering the sponsors’ tables.
Ollie’s aka Yacht Club de Monaco
Quadrille’s Tete a Tete fabric tops these cocktail tables.
Clean and crisp was the mantra for these fleeting designs that we were able to capture (with a little help for the evening shots from sSn and aFh). From fabrics to flowers and every prop and little detail in between, the French Riviera came to life on Friday night, June 2nd.
Cheers to the Junior Board for another tres chic event culminating with a smashing fireworks display! What a memorable evening for the 2017 sponsors and all in attendance!
