Ahhhh, Easter is upon us.
This year particularly I find the timing of an early Easter Sunday exciting and refreshing.
Because the date for Easter Sunday is set to occur the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Vernal Equinox, the exact date changes every year.
It can be as early as March 22
and as late as April 25.
The signs of spring in Virginia are just coming to light, and
the timing couldn’t be more perfect.
The convergence of the awakening of spring and Easter Sunday makes me giddy, but this year the timing has taken on a new perspective. The evil that exploded in Brussels, Belgium on Tuesday — in the middle of Holy Week — is chilling. It disrupted our bright expectations for peace and joy during this final week of Lent.
How I wish the vile souls responsible for the bombings knew the Prince of Peace.
As we prepare for Easter, let’s pray for our sisters and brothers in Belgium, and for peace to reign over all the earth.
