Talent, ambition and guts. That’s what two inspiring young women behind the new designer line CROSBY by Mollie Burch possess.
The two will debut the line in Richmond next Sunday, January 24 at a trunk show in my home.
Meet the Team
CROSBY by Mollie Burch is a women’s contemporary line distinguished by custom abstract prints, bold colors, and feminine silhouettes. The company was founded in Atlanta, GA in October 2015 by Mollie Crosby Burch [on left], with the help of fellow University of Virginia grad, Taylor Richardson. Mollie is the former head designer at Annie Griffin Collection and held internships with Milly and Hunter Bell. Taylor has been a consultant at Bain & Company for the past two years and is beyond excited to bring her business background to the company. While they have a lot of work ahead of them, Mollie and Taylor are ready to take on the challenge and make Mollie’s dream come true by creating CROSBY by Mollie Burch.
As the President and Head Designer, Mollie styles the fabric and garments, while Taylor serves as the Chief Operating Officer.
I met Mollie and Taylor through my oldest daughter who is also my fashion coach. When eBh moved to Atlanta to work, she began to acquire new workplace and going out clothes. Inevitably the most flattering and distinctive pieces were those to which she declared, It’s another Annie Griffin that Mollie designed.
When eBh told me that Mollie and Taylor were launching their own fashion line, I was intrigued and truly impressed. Little did I know I would have the opportunity to help them promote their endeavor.
CROSBY’s design aesthetic distinguishes itself through custom abstract prints, bold colors and feminine silhouettes as seen by the samples below.
Targeting women aged 16 to 60+, their colors, patterns and silhouettes deliver universal appeal across the age spectrum.
You’re Invited to the Trunk Show
A few notes about the Trunk Show at my home next Sunday, January 24
• The Trunk Show is a pre-sale of CROSBY clothing. Customers will receive their orders in April.
• If you are unable to attend the show, you may pre-order from the CROSBY website: www.crosbybymollieburch.com.
• In addition to the 18 garments from the Spring/Summer 2016 Collection, custom printed stationery
and jewelry from the Starfish Project (see below) will be on hand for purchase.
• The Trunk Show is designed to kickstart the brand. The goal is to sell CROSBY through the website and high-end boutiques.
More than Just Fashion
As Mollie nurtured her fashion design skills, she grew to love how a beautiful garment has potential to give someone confidence. The team seeks to produce a line that influences women of all ages and create a brand that empowers women. To support that mission they have partnered with Starfish Project, whose mission is to restore hope to exploited women.
Seventy-five percent of CROSBY’s jewelry profits will go to Starfish. In the Fall of 2016 CROSBY will unveil another partnership with Wellspring Living. Ultimately they want CROSBY to be a brand that advocates for hope.
Please join me at the trunk show and get in on the ground floor with these talented, ambitious, gutsy and gracious young women. Bring a friend; the more the merrier! I hope to see you Sunday.
