Today we are thrilled to be joining The Pink Pagoda’s Blue and White Bash.
After checking out this blue and white sunroom, head on over to The Pink Pagoda for some more stylish blue and white inspiration.
For years, dNz and her husband have talked about converting their screened-in porch off the side of their beautiful tudor-style home into a more user-friendly sunroom. They rarely used the large space because it was full of pollen in the spring, too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. It was hardly worth the effort to make the porch comfortable only for fall use when their two daughters’ activities kept them busy away from home, so usually the space sat forlorn.teal dining chairs from LaDifference/ orange candleholders from Ruth & Ollie/ dining bench from Williams & Sherrill outlet
Not until their nest emptied last fall did dNz and her husband resolve to finally turn their dreamed-about sunroom into a reality. Of course, changing out the screens for windows proved more complicated than one would have thought, but by this past spring, the sunroom with its haint blue ceiling was transformed into a year-round retreat. Then the fun began for dNz.
Once again, dNz called on Janie Molster Designs who had helped redecorate dNz’s living room (featured here). After advising on space-planning, Molster found these incredible chairs at High Point Market last spring

and suggested the beautiful indoor-outdoor fabric to cover them. Molster also ordered the sofa covered in white indoor-outdoor fabric and found the wool ottoman.painting of Greece and Galapagos book reflect the family’s travels acrylic coffee table from Overstock/ blue and white pillows from Ruth & Ollie
With Molster’s bones in place, dNz began filling the blue and white room with her family in mind. Like many in RVA, dNz’s husband is a Virginia Cavalier whose blood runs blue and orange, so adding orange accents to the blue and white was a no-brainer. The clean complementary palate is so fresh that it will look good in any season, whether football, basketball, lacrosse or golf.
We love how dNz mixed high and low furnishings and accents to create a comfortable yet stylish retreat. With tv’s sprinkled throughout the rest of their home, dNz prohibited one in this room. This light-filled space has become the couple’s favorite place to share meals, and dNz, who is in my book club (see our latest book club picks in the sidebar), loves curling up in one of the chairs or on the couch to read.
Thank you, dNz, for inviting us back to your lovely home and graciously revealing the sources for the fabulous finds sprinkled throughout your blue and white sunroom. Though we are #thinkingpink this month, we are tickled orange to share this spectacular space with the posse. Don’t you love seeing what others are doing with their empty nests?
