Whysteria creeps up on me in the spring. Usually I’m ogling the dogwoods this time of year and forget that Wisteria is emerging.
Last week I was riding around town,
Whysteria: the giddy state of being overcome by the perfume and petals of Wisteria floribunda.
Clyde Edgerton had such a bad case of whysteria that he made the vigorous vine a character in The Floatplane Notebooks.
Scads of businesses have whysteria as well. Diverse enterprises ~ a restaurant, catalog, bed & breakfast, food company, school, salon and even a technology company ~ have Wisteria as a namesake. Kudzu just doesn’t conjure the same imagery does it?
Are you whysterical, too?
