Have you attended a Stella & Dot party? I have been invited to two in the past but never found the time to attend either. My loss! At the Ivy Market last week, we met Jenny Foley, a Stella & Dot Senior Director and one of our participating vendors at THINK PINK, our breast cancer fundraiser on Friday, October 25. My fitness mentor, Kelly Kinzinger (who has donated her studio for THINK PINK), suggested we include Jenny, and I am tickled pink. We think you are going to love the ever-evolving Stella & Dot product line.
Stella & Dot began as a direct sales in-home purveyor of costume jewelry. After starting with one designer, the company now employs twenty who fashion the line, which has something for everyone.
Expanding the Line
You may have noticed other accessories sneaking into our photos of the jewelry. The handbag
in buttery cobalt leather caught our eye immediately. Other accessories include clutches, wallets and scarves. The newest designers (from the same design houses as Kate Spade and Marc Jacobs) have been earning their keep!
We asked Jenny for her favorite piece, and without hesitation she pointed to
Jenny has been with Stella & Dot for 4½ years, and as a Senior Director who oversees 1600 independent consultants in her empire stretching from Hawaii to the United Kingdom, it’s a full-time job for her. She discovered the company while reading a blog by Paula Prass. Impressed with Jenny’s success, I wanted to know more about the company that has fueled it.
A MORE magazine article entitled Stella & Dot’s CEO on the Brink of Making a Billion profiles CEO Jessica Herrin and the evolution of Stella & Dot. After two trial-and-error attempts to create a company that would allow working moms like her to become momprenuers, Ms. Herrin has transformed Stella & Dot into a powerhouse. A graduate of Stanford, she has found the right formula for in-home sales parties and thoughtfully grown the company to meet the demands and desires of its ever-increasing customers. What an inspirational model for other working moms, and a good-looking one, too.
