We really hope that you can help us relive a bit of the fun from Kate and Will’s royal wedding two years ago. This time the party will be all about food and friends and supporting women of the Richmond area who are not as prepared to welcome their newborn as Kate will be to welcome the soon-to-be prince(ss). If you can join us, please contact Ellen HERE. While you are at it, please pass this invitation along to your posse: the more the merrier!
It has been quite a while since we have attended a baby shower, so Ellen and I are enjoying researching the latest trends that the millennials are employing as they celebrate the impending arrivals of the next generation. Apparently games have become de rigueur at these themed soirees. I don’t remember playing any back in the ’90s when we were giving birth, but we are excited to embrace the ideas of the younger members of our posse.
Because there will be no mother-to-be present at our Benefit, our games will not be belly-centric. Rather a couple of games of chance will serve as guest entertainment at our Royal Shower. Even if you cannot attend our tea party on June 2nd, you are still welcome to participate.
Motherly Advice Drawing
We will ask each attendee to respond to this question:
What words of motherly wisdom would you share with Kate (or your own God-daughter) upon the arrival of her prince(ss)?
We are excited to collect our posse’s answers whether you can join us or not, so put on your thinking caps. If you cannot attend, just type your answer to this question in the Comments below. Shower attendees will complete their answers
on cards which will be placed into a bowl for a random drawing for a gift at the shower. We will provide a compilation of everyone’s advice in a future post.
Traditionally an office game for the baby’s father, we are bringing the baby pool into the 21st century with an on-line game from bebepool.com that anyone can play without having to make an appearance at our RVA shower on Sunday. The prize for this game is open to all. Thanks to the generosity of our favorite local Lilly Pulitzer signature store, The Pink Palm, the winner of our pool will receive this fabulous light cashmere and silk Murfette scarf.
To enter the pool, click HERE to go to our Royal Baby Pool. The pool will remain open until the earlier of June 30 at noon ET or the royal delivery. Spread the word, and let’s get everyone in on the fun.
We really hope that you attend on Sunday if you are in RVA. If you can’t, please consider sharing in the fun with our two games. With so much heart-break going on in the world around us, it is a true pleasure to be anticipating the good news and excitement of the royal birth with our Royal Baby Shower Benefit.
p.s. If you are looking for a delightful evening of shopping and nibbles tonight, one of our posse, Annie Kasper, let us in on this fun-sounding event.
Check it out.
