In a few days my husband, son and I depart for the Dominican Republic for a 5-night stay. It’s Monday, and I’m making my do-list for this trip. In my house, I’m the cruise director. It’s up to me to get our household ready for departure, and the less I have to do for me, the more time I have to ensure we don’t forget anything.
Packing used to look similiar to this
Luckily, posse pal jSl clued me into these nifty travel bags that organize my suitcase and pack quickly:
My new best travel friends are Eagle Creek Travel Gear Pack-It Cubes.
Shown here is the single side cube. I use three of these for tops, bottoms and lingerie. The fourth bag I use is the two-sided version. Usually I put accessories on one side, and exercise clothes on the other. The two-sided bag has a waterproof section that comes in handy on the return trip if some of my items are damp. When packing, I set out five stacks on my bed. Then I load each bag, zip, and throw into the suitcase. This simple method makes me prioritize and focus, ensuring I don’t forget anything. When I arrive at my destination, unpacking is quick and easy, allowing me to find the beach asap.
Can’t tell you how thankful I am that my travel accessories have improved from the 1980’s.
